Species: Myroxylon peruiferum L. F., Family: Leguminosae. Class: Benzoic esters.
This resin has a complex aroma consisting chiefly of cinnamon and vanilla notes with a slight floral character. It has warm, mellow and somewhat spicy aroma.
Peru balsam resin is used mostly in perfumes.
